Star Wars: The Old Republic recently released some new information about “Flash Points” that we will find in the SWTOR universe. These self contained instances take your character through an adventure that you can complete with your friends.
Aside from using teamwork to get through the challenge, each flash point appears to offer a cool story that you can take part in while you complete your mission. We really love how they are injecting all sorts of cool cut scenes and decision making into these flash points… plus having a story to get into doesn’t hurt either!
SWTOR has released an awesome video of one of the flash points named “Taral V” check out the embedded video after the jump!
Over here at Headstache, we’re constantly checking out behind the scenes footage from some of our favorite programming. Here we have some visual effects production work done by Brainstorm Digital, the studio that did the graphics for Boardwalk Empire.
They were tasked with the challenging mission of re-creating the visual look of 1920s Atlantic City’s boardwalk. Not to mention the dramatic make up done on the audience’s favorite World War I sniper, Richard Harrow. Even the advertisements in the background are historically accurate. Check it out!
Star Wars the Old Republic just released this new video that features the Trooper class! This game is looking better with every update. We cannot wait to sink our teeth into this one!
Troopers are the embodiment of the Republic military’s highest aspirations—the most advanced fighting force in the galaxy. They are equipped to face any foe in any environment, but it’s not their gear that makes them tough—it’s their courage. The Troopers’ greatest weapons are their indomitable spirit, their unwavering sense of duty, and their undying loyalty to each other and to the ideals that the Republic represents.
Hanna is a film about a 14-year-old who was raised by her father to be a cold-hearted killing machine. Starring Cate Blanchett, Eric Bana, Saoirse Ronan and directed by Joe Wright. The film comes out on April 8, 2011.
Hanna (Ronan) is a teenage girl. Uniquely, she has the strength, the stamina, and the smarts of a solider; these come from being raised by her father (Bana), an ex-CIA man, in the wilds of Finland. Living a life unlike any other teenager, her upbringing and training have been one and the same, all geared to making her the perfect assassin. The turning point in her adolescence is a sharp one; sent into the world by her father on a mission, Hanna journeys stealthily across Europe while eluding agents dispatched after her by a ruthless intelligence operative with secrets of her own (Ms. Blanchett). As she nears her ultimate target, Hanna faces startling revelations about her existence and unexpected questions about her humanity.

In this video, Star Wars the Old Republic discusses an interesting aspect to the game called “crew skills”.
The skills available to you will be: Diplomacy, Scavenging, and Crafting. These options will give your various crew members the abilities to make and find new items for you, go on secret diplomatic missions, or even scavenge scrap metal from a destroyed enemy. We think this idea is absolutely awesome and it will take a lot of the mundane aspects of crafting and farming out of the equation. This game looks better and better with each update.
The Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ galaxy is rich with valuable resources, high-tech schematics, and intriguing opportunities, but what hero has time to devote themselves personally to so many pursuits? That’s where your crew comes in. The Crew Skills system allows you to take advantage of everything the galaxy has to offer without getting in the way of your adventure! You’ll assign your crew of companions to gather resources, craft useful and valuable items, and even to undertake their own missions, bringing you and the rest of the crew a variety of benefits and rewards. Crew skills keep you in the action while you take advantage of all the galaxy has to offer!
