NASA Sets News Conference on Astrobiology Discovery

Nasa Logo

Nasa has scheduled a news conference for tomorrow @ 2pm EST. They are keeping the subject of the news conference under wraps, but there is wild speculation that a group of scientists may have discovered a form of extra-terrestrial life that is living right here on Earth with us.

The ET’s would take the form of micro-organisms that use Arsenic as one of their key building blocks to life. Humans and every other animal on Earth find Arsenic toxic, so this means that this form of life would have developed on Earth separate from Humans, mammals, birds, reptiles, etc.

We will be following the news conference tomorrow and posting an update ASAP.

Watch the news conference live at 2pm EST 12/2/2010

Mozilla Seabird Phone Concept

Believe us when we say that the Mozilla Seabird Phone Concept is amazing. This phone is not real, but it is the wishlist of features the Mozilla community would like to see in a phone. We are not sure if the technology exists or not, but we would buy this incredible device in a heartbeat. The future is looking great!

The Mozilla Seabird, part of the Mozilla Labs’ Concept Series, is an experiment in how users might interact with their mobile content as devices and technology advances. Drawing on insights culled from the Mozilla community through the project’s blog, a focus quickly developed around frustrating physical interactions. While mobile CPUs, connectivity and development platforms begin approaching that of desktops, the lagging ability to efficiently input information has grown ever more pronounced.

“Biutiful” a film by Alejandro Inarritu

Biutiful is a film directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and is due out Dec. 29, 2010 in select theaters. The film features Javier Bardem, winner of the best actor award at the Cannes Film Festival. Inarritu, known for films such as Amores Perros, 21 Grams and Babel, set out to make a different kind of film than he has in the past ,

” At the end of Babel, I was so exhausted I made it a point that my next film would be about just one character, with one point of view, in one single city, with a straight narrative line and in my own native language. Using a musical analogy, if Babel was an opera, Biutiful is a requiem. . . and here I am.”

Here is some more information about the film:

Biutiful is a love story between a father and his children. This is the journey of Uxbal, a conflicted man who struggles to reconcile fatherhood, love, spirituality, crime, guilt and mortality amidst the dangerous underworld of modern Barcelona. His livelihood is earned out of bounds, his sacrifices for his children know no bounds. Like life itself, this is a circular tale that ends where it begins. As fate encircles him and thresholds are crossed, a dim, redemptive road brightens, illuminating the inheritances bestowed from father to child, and the paternal guiding hand that navigates life’s corridors, whether bright, bad – or biutiful
